Training Day
We’re having a training day for leaders later in the year at Merrylands East Presbyterian Church in Guildford. We’ll be starting at 11am.
At Training Day you will prepare for your role on Camp, build relationships within all the teams and grow in your understanding of the vision and biblical direction of Camp to effectively proclaim ‘Jesus is Lord’. If you live more than 2 hours away, it’s not compulsory to come (although you’re welcome to), in which case, we’ll provide distance training material.

Kids Program (0 – Year 5)
PYNSW values the time and commitment that parents show by serving at Summer Camp. For this reason PYNSW runs a Kids Program, for the children of leaders. Children from birth to Year 5 are catered for during Summer Camp during the morning program.
Need a WWCC?
A WWCC (Working With Children Check) is a mandatory requirement for anyone working with children and young people. If you do not have a WWCC Certificate you must apply as a Volunteer ASAP as it may take some time to process.

Further Information
What do we do?
As a camper, on arrival you’ll be assigned a room to stay in, and a small group to spend the week studying the Bible together. Through the week, you’ll attend sessions where we sing, play indoor games together, and hear talks from the Bible, There will be lots of fun activities to work through together, seminars to attend, meals together, a New Years Eve activity run by our interns, and even welcome the new year with a New Years Eve party together.
Is this for anyone?
Camp is for children and youth; they don’t have to be Christians. The youngest campers are those who have finished year 6 at the end of 2026, and the oldest campers tend to be under 20 years old.
Most of our leaders finish year 12 and then take the lead for life internship program, and then return the following year as small group leaders, but we have leaders of all ages in a range of roles.
What if I can't afford camp?
If you’re ruling out coming to camp for financial reasons, please get in touch (email camps@pynsw.org.au): further subsidies are available on request.
Lead For Life
Lead for Life is the Presbyterian Youth internship programme. It is a yearlong program for developing leaders to gain training and experience to lead at their church.
Being part of the program involves residential training. This runs for 6 days alongside PY Summer Camp where the bulk of the learning will take place. The teaching sessions are run by qualified ministers of the Presbyterian Church.
