PY Annual Forum is the opportunity to share what you’d like PYNSW to be working on, to let us know what’s important to you, and to hear from others around the state.
In 2025, the forum asked us to look at the following:
Governance and Leadership Development
That PYC;
- explore implementing a “buddy” or shadowing system for younger members interested in leadership roles
- review and consider implementing succession planning strategies for leadership positions at PY Summer Camp
- review and update policies and procedures
- explore ways to involve more young people in working groups and committees
Training and Events Strategy
That PYC explore different approaches to training events, considering timing challenges for zoom meetings, especially for those with young families, travel difficulties for weeknight events across Sydney, competing commitments for university-aged leaders
Potential solutions proposed:
- Running two Saturday PYE Sydney events annually instead of evening Encourage Express events
- Establishing regional hubs to access the training of PY Encourage Sydney events
- Creating paper flyers for PYE Sydney to facilitate invitations
Financial Transparency
PYC was asked to provide greater details on camping costs within the PYNSW financial results presented at PYAF.
Resources and Vision
- Request to make the family discipleship course available (you can sign up for free on the PY website)
- Request to keep PYNSW’s aim and vision prominent to maintain motivation
